The Legal Services team at EllisDon is comprised of lawyers and other professionals from a variety of backgrounds. You will be joining a collegial team that values the importance of supporting each other to provide the best possible service to the business. The Legal Services team is hard working and very accomplished in the construction and infrastructure industries, as evidenced by the recognition of our team as the winner of the Construction, Infrastructure and Transportation Law Department of the Year in the annual Canadian Law Awards for 2022.

As Legal Counsel you will:

  • Participate in and lead commercial negotiations and bids for new construction projects of varying size and complexity, including projects in the commercial, residential and infrastructure spaces
  • Lead and manage complex construction disputes
  • Manage and direct external counsel and consultants on disputes of varying size and complexity
  • Provide general advice and support to projects and business units

This role is right for you if you have

  • 4 to 8 years of legal experience, including meaningful experience on construction and facilities management projects and disputes
  • A desire to work in the areas of construction and infrastructure
  • Strong document and file management organizational skills and experience
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to new problems and thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
  • A desire and ability to collaborate with professionals with different skills and backgrounds throughout the construction industry
