Who are we looking for?

We are seeking an HR Assistant for our HR department. This position will require you to provide administrative support to the Human Resources department in a wide range of human resource functions such as health and safety, performance management, and payroll and benefits, with a focus on recruitment, onboarding, and wellness programs.

Qualifications:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources
  • 1-2 years' of previous human resources experience is an asset
  • Previous recruiting experience is an asset
  • CHRP designation or working towards designation is preferred
  • Experience working with HRIS and payroll software is an asset and Dayforce experience is preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Detail-orientated with ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently, as well as within a team.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment, drafting job descriptions, postings ads, screening candidates, interviewing candidates, drafting and presenting offer letters
  • Communicating benefit information to employees
  • Ensure compliance with employment related laws/practices
  • Administer and enforce HR strategies, procedures, and policies
  • Health & Safety, maintain records and be an active member of the JHSC
  • Maintain all employee records (HRIS)
  • Organize and deliver new employee orientation, on-boarding and off-boarding
  • Answer employee questions and address employee concerns
