The Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (IPC) has an exciting new opportunity for legal counsel to provide advice to the IPC on all aspects of labour and employment law.

What can I expect to do in this role?

The successful candidate will be a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario with significant knowledge and experience:
• Representing and advising parties in collective bargaining and on the implementation of collective agreements.
• Representing and advising parties in grievances and labour arbitration hearings and other tribunal and court proceedings.
• Providing legal and strategic advice on labour and employment law matters, including recruitment and retention, discipline and discharge, performance management, human rights and accommodation, workplace investigations, and regulatory compliance.
• Reviewing, drafting, and implementing human resources and policies and procedures.
• Interpreting and providing legal and strategic advice on Ontario labour and employment legislation and regulations.
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with management and unionized and non-unionized staff and building a positive workplace culture.

The successful candidate will also be asked to take on work in other areas of the organization.
