As a Senior Program Manager supported by the Director of Global Privacy, you will ensure that TELUS maintains and enhances its reputation as a leader in privacy as we serve our customers and scale our operations internationally. You will assist with the creation, implementation, management, delivery and ongoing monitoring of our enterprise Global Privacy Program, including our compliance with Latin America's privacy requirements. You will also assist in maintaining and enhancing our Anti-Bribery & Corruption and Competition Law compliance programs.

We are looking for a proactive self-starter who enjoys working in a challenging and fast-paced environment with limited supervision.

What you'll do

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with others in the DTO and the business to ensure compliance with relevant privacy laws, regulations and best practices, with a focus on the LATAM region
  • Supporting the development, management and revision of internal policies and procedures
  • Creating internal compliance guidance
  • Ensuring our internal assessment process reflects LATAM requirements
  • Leading and/or assisting in the development of effective training program for personnel
  • Ensuring cross border data transfer mechanisms are in place for movement of LATAM personal data
  • Assisting as needed in contract negotiations
  • Contributing to the ongoing enhancement of the overall privacy management program and related activities, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness
  • Supporting the interaction with local LATAM regulatory bodies on privacy matters as necessary
  • Collaborating with other departments within the Data and Trust Office on special projects such as acquisitions and integration activities
  • Reporting on various privacy program management activities

Qualifications

What you bring

  • Passion for privacy, can-do attitude, and a palpable desire to learn and excel at everything that you do
  • Knowledge of major privacy legal frameworks in Latin America, including Brazil and Mexico
  • At least 5 years of experience in building compliance program, preferably in the privacy space
  • Proficient in Spanish and English, verbal and written
  • Graduate degree in relevant discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Recognized for your ability to collaborate and accomplish goals with others
  • Proven track record of defining and delivering measurable outcomes for stakeholders in a highly complex environment
  • Known for your ability to influence and negotiate effectively, to be a persuasive advocate
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build and foster relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and with complex concepts


Great-to-haves

  • Law degree
  • Knowledge of health privacy
  • A broad-based knowledge of the business and operations of a technology company
  • Proficiency in Portuguese
  • IAPP Certification.
